Flesh and Bones

Ce volume en anglais rassemble les communications présentées lors d’un séminaire de recherche interdisciplinaire intitulé « L’individu et son corps dans l’ancien bassin méditerranéen ». Ce séminaire se situait au carrefour de l’histoire des religions et de l’anthropologie sociale, créant un dialogue entre philologues, archéologues, historiens des religions et anthropologues. Son objectif principal consistait à étudier les perceptions de soi du corps dans l’ancien Proche-Orient, avec des incursions dans d’autres parties du bassin méditerranéen dans une perspective comparatiste. Dans ce volume, différents thèmes sont examinés, tels que : 1) la relation entre le corps et le langage ; 2) le corps, les perceptions et la société, y compris l’étude des sens tels qu’ils sont décrits dans les textes ; 3) le corps en tant que symbole d’appartenance sociale ; 4) le corps en tant que support de l’expérience religieuse.
